A brief tour of Ann Arbor part II: The Law School OR In which we travel to Hogwarts without even knowing it

So I had heard that U of M's law library looks just like Hogwarts (which it does--you'll see later!) but I was totally unaware that the entire campus is built in this crazy awesome neo-gothic castle looking style (feel free to correct me on my architecture styles, Aaron!).  Here's Jesse and Niko outside one of the main class buildings:

And here's the sign on the building:

The hallways of that building are just stunning:

and they have these awesome depictions in the windows of legal concepts.  The following, for assault and arson, respectively, were my favorites.  Let's see if you can figure out why:

Here's one of Jesse's classrooms:

And this is the courtyard of this building.  Gorgeous, right?

This is the entryway to the law library.  Seriously, we were pretty sure we were at Hogwarts.

Deeper in the library, they revert to that awesome modernistic style and look more modernly library-ish.

But in the entry hall, the study hall, they stick with that neo-gothic style with these gigantic vaulted windows with stained glass crests of universities from all over the world.

We recognized a few famous ones:

(Princeton, Harvard, Cornell)

But we also saw one from closer to home!

(this is for you, Aaron!)

And since I've only been teasing you with it the whole, post, here's a shot of the whole room.

Seriously, guys, seriously.

yeah, Dave couldn't stop talking about it! I suppose after awhile it'll be all "yeah, gothic arches, yawn." But it is certainly nice. And makes it feel like important stuff goes on there, which is probably the point.

That's so beautiful! I think that studying in an atmosphere like that would inspire me to be more studious and academic. Or maybe I'm kidding myself and I'd be just as much of a procrastinator....
