A dinner date in the quad

Jesse is nearing the end of his semester (quick, Jesse, plug your ears and shout "I can't hear you!!") which means he's putting his nose to the grindstone more as he gets ready for finals.  For most of the semester, he's been able to get away with staying on campus for classes and studying til just 5 everyday and then not having to study when he's home, but as the end approaches he's been needing to study in the evenings more often.

One day last week, Jesse  had a meeting with an adviser scheduled at 8 pm and plenty of studying to get done as well. Instead of him taking a lot of time to ride the bus home, eat dinner, etc and then ride the bus back, (leaving a lot of homework still to be done), I suggested that Niko and I just take the bus to campus and bring some sandwiches for dinner so Jesse could have more time to study.  So that's what we did!

Nikolai had fun engaged in some of his favorite activities:

Stroller pushing

Sandwich eating

And squirrel chasing!

Here he's clearly thrilled by his venture with the squirrel.

It was fun to get out of the house for a little bit, and I think the break was good for my boys, too.

We took a few minutes to wander around and stretch our legs after we ate.  Niko loooves wandering all over and playing in all the greenery, possibly a little too much, because once I looked down and saw he had something green in his mouth...and I pulled out this leaf!

Going in for more.

Don't worry, I didn't let him eat this one!

Leaving the house at dinner time also had the added benefit of tuckering our little boy plum out, just in time for bed.  Look at his sweet face on the bus ride home!

The End.

Oh my gosh, he's getting so big! And of course he's still the cutest ever. Love the pictures of him and Jesse together.

We do this all the time! Gotta love grad school. Sometimes it's the only way Landon and Walt see each other in a day. :) Go Jesse, you can do it!
