NYC with The Uncles

My brother and his husband are moving to NYC next month for grad school, so we met up with them there when they came to apartment hunt. Note: They will be henceforth called "The Uncles" because Uncle Aaron and Uncle Jake is a mouthful :D

We took the train there and it was more expensive than driving but soooo nice. I love trains.

Uncle Aaron is the nicest and let our 50 lb kid ride on his shoulders a ton.

We kind of gallivanted around the city, meandering through central park and Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Mostly we enjoyed talking and being together.

Oh! Someone had drawn this on the sidewalk in Central Park, so obviously I had to take a picture of it for our Leona:

Speaking of our Leona, she was completely awesome the whole time (like always!)

There was a lot of food bribery to motivate the kids to walk and walk and walk, and these blue-sprinkled soft serve cones ($5 a piece!!!) were a big part of that. Also, fun fact that you didn't want to know: their poop was green for two days afterward from all the food dye 😅

Aaron posed as the statue of liberty with his cone:

And eventually we ended up at Prospect Park in Brooklyn, where Niko and Aaron played on some massive rocks and taxed each other with leaves.

These guys are so great, and I am over the moon that we'll live so close together soon!

It's awesome to have family within driving (or even better, train) distace! AND in a fun location that feels like an adventure, well that's just a bonus.
