Easter

Hello friends and loved ones!

I hope you had a swell Easter--ours was lovely! As it turns out, preparing Easter baskets and egg hunts* for a four year old is really fun. Nikolai really got into it and obviously has been excited to eat ridiculous quantities of chocolate.

*Despite our frivolous celebrations, we aren't telling the kids that the Easter bunny is real. In my mind, if there's any holiday that should actually be about Jesus, it's THIS ONE.

My favorite baking blogger posted a recipe for Italian Easter Bread, so obviously we had to try it.

It turned out delicious AND beautiful, so I think it's safe to say it will be a new Easter tradition.

And I tried very hard to stick to the serving size:

Happy Easter!

Oh, come make me some Easter Bread! And explain to Calvin about Easter. He was for sure confused..."But what does a bunny have to do with Jesus being resurrected?" Yeah, kid, NOTHING.

Someone asked if the Easter Bunny was coming to our house and I was really confused for a second. I'd completely forgotten it existed. That bread looks awesome!
