Some perks of being a storytime librarian is that I get paid to read kids books, put together paper bag puppets for a craft, and make things like this:

(a felt board adaptation of a lovely wintry book that I made)

Ok, technically I made this one at home while we were closed for renovations (because I was getting paid while we were closed and I wanted to have something to show for my time off, even though that wasn't expected of me...) but last week I spent some storytime prep time making clothes for puppets so I could use them to tell a story (The Paper Bag Princess by Robert Munsch, in case you're curious) and it was great.

I love my job!

It seems to me that you're getting paid to do something you'd probably be doing anyway!
