Like riding a bike

We recently acquired a bike trailer and I got to ride a bike for the first time in 3 years! (I'll admit, I could have rode around by myself at times when Jesse was home to watch Niko, but those are the times I generally want to be home with my boys.)

For our inaugural ride, we headed to our favorite frozen yogurt place about a mile up the road.

Jesse is used to riding his bike 3 miles each way to school, so he pulled the trailer for us :)

 Nikolai really liked it!

I liked it too. I think the exercise and fresh air is good for me--I couldn't stop smiling!

I love a good excuse to get froyo and this time it felt like we earned it :)

Yay for the marvelous invention of bicycles and fun family times!

fun! i love love love riding my bike. we have had a baby seat the whole time so we've been able to ride. now we have a trailer too. i think one of the best feelings in the world is riding fast downhill after a hot day when it's cooled down and it smells like summer. my favorite. (of course autumn bike rides are awesome too. most bike rides are.)

Melissa, our only regret with getting the bike trailer is that we didn't have it starting in May! But we're definitely looking forward to finding Little Sister a way to ride in it next summer :)

It really is just so fun. And good for you guys on Ann Arbor's steep roads. I don't recognize that frozen yogurt place, is that new? Looks yummy.

Maren, after going for a run or two up these Ann Arbor hills, biking up them feels 10x easier so it's not that bad! Also, I think the froyo place moved in not long after you left--it's next to the Jimmy Johns in the kroger parking lot.

Jealous! We looked into getting a bike trailer when we first moved here...but it turns out Landon's bike (which was a hand-me-down from my brother's tween self) wasn't rideable anymore, and mine isn't much better. So 2 new bikes + a trailer wasn't doable. :( Someday though, I have high hopes of family bike rides on Sunday afternoons! You all look great!
