NaNoWriMo

Guess what, friends?  This year I'm participating in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)!

For the uninformed, that's where you attempt to write a whole novel (50,000 words) during the month of November. I half tried it last year, but only got a few days in before I lost steam and stopped.  But this year! This year I will PREVAIL!  Luckily, I was able to resurrect last years' story so I don't have to do as much dreaming up, and I'm feeling a lot more motivated this year.  So far, I've written 5,421 words and I'm feeling super proud of myself :)  Make no mistake, I'm fairly certain I'm writing YA fantasy drivel, but somehow it's satisfying to be producing something. And like they say, if I'm ever going to be a writer (also no guarantee), I'd better get my first half a dozen bad stories out of the way so the good ones can come through, right?

Anyways, I'll try to post weekly updates about how I'm doing (for posterity's sake, right?), so wish me luck!

Good luck! Keep writing, even if you're not sure where it's going. Good editing will clean up the details.

yay you! I get the email reminders, but so far I haven't sucked it up and tried to actually do it. You can be my bellweather!
