Halloween!

Every year during the few months right before Halloween, wild and crazy ideas of fantastic and elaborate costumes run through my head.  Eventually most of them get crossed off the list and I finally settle on something manageable.  This year I finally settled on dressing up as a family of Star Fleet officers from Star Trek!

The boys are pretty much just generic officers but I am captain Janeway. 

Jesse's work had trick-or-treating for kids of the employees so we took Nikolai around.  We sorta commandeered most of his candy though ;)

He did manage to get his hands on a dum dum and got the wrapper off--and it must have been the best thing he ever tasted cause look at his sweet little intense face up there! That, and he screamed like a banshee when we (inevitably) took it away from him.

But as our tiny starship captain he was really very sweet.

Here he is, boldly going where no baby has gone before...

...discovering new and wonderful creatures...

...giving commands from his captain's chair...

...and generally being the cutest, tiniest starship captain that ever was!
