Fourth of July!
For the Fourth this year we decided to keep things low-key. We had a nice, relaxing morning (slept in and skipped the parades!) and finally got moving in the afternoon by playing some basketball!
Niko played with his tiny ball and we played with our big one!
(Please let's not talk about my poor form!)
Love my boys!
Then for dinner we tried our hands at cooking on a coal grill! Story: Since we moved in a month and a half ago, we've noticed this grill right outside our back door, between our apartment and the empty apartment next door. We watched it sit there for weeks and no one else came and used it, so we finally decided that whoever lived here or next door before must have left it behind--so we claimed it for our own!
We decided to make shish kabobs and grilled corn, and after a bit of a bumpy start (coals not hot enough, etc) it ended up working out great!
Also, it turned out Niko LOVED corn on the cob and looked adorable eating it!
In the evening, we went to some friends' house for games and then came home and watched movies. No fireworks, cause they don't do any in Ann Arbor (just nearby towns) and we were too lazy to go find some, but we didn't mind--we had a great fourth of July anyways!!
