Badger badger?

Hey guys, anyone know what this critter is?

I discovered him in our backyard  the other day and took some pictures, but I don't really know what he is! 

My best guess is badger, but if you know better, let me know! (Dad?  Dave? anyone?)

Update: since posting this, I've become fairly certain this critter is actually a groundhog! What say ye?
